“The Art of My Eye” – what does it mean?
For years people who have looked at my images have said “Charlie, you have a great eye.” It has not been until lately that I have understood what it means, other than the lteral meaning.
When I look through the lens of my camera, I not only see the subject, I also see the numerous images that can be made from what “my eye” sees. When “my eye” is happy with the shot, thats when I take the image. Sometimes I will spend minutes setting up a shot and not take a single picture… the image just does not inspire “my eye”.
I love taking pictures, and I have no specific type I like more than any other. I am a “generalists” or a “pictorial” photographer. From a portrait shot of a couple or baby, to a dandelion waiting to send it’s seeds into the wind, I love creating the image.
I take an image, and then I edit it and find the real image within the shot I captured. I love using contrast, color, cropping, saturation, and clarity to find the emotion within the image, to find “The Art of My Eye”.
